Privacy & Data Protection

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how personal data may be collected, used, stored and protected when you use the St Mary's Hair Clinic website.

Your privacy matters This page summarises the website's current privacy information and the rights available to users in relation to their personal data.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

In the European Union, a privacy policy is a legal document that outlines how a website collects, uses, stores, and protects the personal data of its users. It is required under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and must inform users about their rights, including the right to access, correct, or delete their data.

The policy should be clear, accessible, and transparent, detailing the types of data collected, the purpose of processing, data sharing practices, and security measures in place to safeguard user information.

01

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor's IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at Automattic Privacy. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

02

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content such as videos, images and articles. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

03

How long do we store your data?

If you leave a comment, we retain the comment and its metadata indefinitely. This helps us recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, except they cannot change their username. Website administrators can also see and edit that information if necessary.

04

What rights do you have over your data?

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.

You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. However, we must retain some data for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Your data rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held about you, subject to applicable legal or administrative retention requirements.

05

Where do we send your data?

We may check visitor comments through an automated spam detection service.
